Science and knowledge have deep roots not only in Islamic culture but also in Iranian culture. Scientific endowment is also an issue that has been of interest in our country since the distant past, and we once witnessed the most considerable donations and endowments in the field of building and equipping schools, as well as seminaries and libraries in the country. Today, scientific and academic centers benefit less from waqf resources. The studies indicate that many large universities worldwide fund a significant portion of their research and associated expenses through endowment sources. At times, governments may also receive financial aid from these universities.
